Chitrakoot: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday visited flood-affected areas of Chitrakoot, conducting both an aerial survey and ground inspection of areas hit by flooding in the Mandakini River. He met families affected by the floods, listened to their concerns and distributed ration kits and essential relief materials.
As part of the immediate assistance, the Chief Minister handed over cheques of ₹1.20 lakh each to three flood victims whose houses were completely destroyed. Land allotment certificates were also distributed to selected beneficiaries to help affected families rebuild their lives. The administration is continuing its survey of the damage, with further assistance expected to be provided to eligible victims.
Government Stands With Every Flood-Affected Family During the relief distribution programme at Ramayan Mela, CM Yogi assured flood victims that the Uttar Pradesh government would provide all possible assistance without discrimination. He directed officials to ensure that relief operations are carried out swiftly and that no negligence is tolerated. The Chief Minister also instructed the administration to accelerate rehabilitation measures and ensure that affected families receive the support required to return to normal life.
Among those receiving assistance were Mukesh, Lallu and Chunilal, who were presented ₹1.20 lakh cheques after their homes were completely damaged in the floods. Ram Suraj and Suraj Kali received land allotment certificates. Victims Thank Chief Minister for Immediate Support Flood-affected residents expressed gratitude for the relief measures and the Chief Minister’s direct interaction with them.
Several families said the flooding had submerged their homes and destroyed household belongings, leaving them in urgent need of food, shelter and financial assistance. Residents also appreciated the continued distribution of food and essential supplies during the crisis. Some beneficiaries said they had received assistance from the administration from the early stages of the flooding and were assured that arrangements would be made for permanent housing.
CM Yogi Says People Should Not Feel Alone Before reaching Chitrakoot, CM Yogi shared a video message highlighting the relief and rescue operations being undertaken across flood-affected districts of Uttar Pradesh following heavy rainfall. The Chief Minister said the government was working on a war footing to reach affected people and that ministers and officials were also visiting flood-hit areas to monitor relief operations and distribute essential supplies. He emphasised that protecting lives, ensuring timely relief to affected families and supporting those in need remain the government’s top priorities. He also said efforts were underway to find long-term solutions to recurring flood-related problems.
After inspecting the affected areas, CM Yogi held a review meeting with the local administration and directed officials to restore normalcy at the earliest and speed up rehabilitation work. He reiterated that flood victims should not consider themselves alone during the crisis, assuring them that the government would remain firmly by their side.
